About Above Security’s Annual Conference

On an annual basis, Above Security brings together its global customer base during a private and educational event about information security and IT risk management. The objective of the event is to provide our customers and partners with a platform for continuous learning, training and knowledge exchange with industry experts and peers.

Since its first iteration in 2011, Above Security’s annual conference has educated over 400 security professionals on today’s most relevant and critical topics in the industry.

FAQ

While Above Security’s annual conference covers two full conference days on Sunday, May 15 and Monday, May 16, all Above Security staff and conference invitees are advised to arrive in Miami on Saturday, May 14. In addition to joining our traditional welcome dinner on Saturday night, this will ensure that you’re well rested to start the first conference day on Sunday morning.

Considered one of the best hotels in Miami and impressive on every level, EPIC offers the kind of waterfront Miami meeting space that attracts corporate and social groups from around the world.

All presentations and workshop sessions during Above Security’s annual conference will be held at the EPIC Hotel.

  • Sunday, May 15th: For the entire duration of the day, all presentations will be held in Metropolis Ballroom on the 14th floor of the hotel. The breakfast and coffee breaks will be held in the Foyer on the same floor, the lunch will be held in Lilt on the ground floor.
  • Monday, May 16th: Following our President’s and CEO’s welcome address in Metropolis Ballroom, the group will be split into four subgroups for the workshop sessions, which will be held in several breakout rooms (Gotham A, Gotham B, Baxter, Metropolis Ballroom). Lunches and coffee breaks will be held in the same spaces as on Sunday.

On Sunday, May 15, we have organized a special treat for all conference guests − a yacht cruise through Miami Harbor. From 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, we’ll all board the Biscaine Lady yacht at Epic Dock (Epic Hotel Marina) together to get to know one another, network and exchange what we’ve learned during the first conference day. First and foremost, we want you to be comfortable during the event and focus on education and learning. Depending on your preference, you can choose formal attire or business casual for both days of the event.

All participants will get a printed conference booklet with additional information on our event, team and speakers. The conference booklet will be handed out to you upon arrival, together with a welcome package.

Q: Will Above Security arrange for ground transportation from the airport to the hotel, or should I do so myself?

A: No, Above Security will not arrange for ground transportation. Since our guests arrive at very different dates and times, and even at different airports, it will not be feasible to combine all arrivals into one of several shuttle services. If you travel with your colleagues, we encourage to share a taxi or shuttle bus to the Epic Hotel. It takes about 15-20 minutes to get from Miami International Airport to the Epic Hotel and costs between $16 per person (shuttle bus) and $30 per person (taxi). For shuttle buses, please follow the signs to “ground transportation” and there’s no reservation needed.
